In today's world, an effective recruitment checking process including the use of a CRB Disclosure and ISA checks on barred persons are becoming more important to all sorts of organisations. Crimecheck.co.uk can help organisations make more informed recruitment decisions.

It is now a criminal offence for individuals barred by the ISA to work or apply to work with children or vulnerable adults in a wide range of posts - including most NHS jobs, Prison Service, education and childcare. Employers also face criminal sanctions for knowingly employing a barred individual across a wider range of work.

Vetting and Barring Scheme Announcement
Tuesday 15 June 2010

Today the Government has announced their intention to remodel the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) back to proportionate, commonsense levels.  As a result, the ISA-registration stage of the scheme has been stopped and therefore will not launch on 26 July 2010 as planned.

Although the full details and scope of this remodel are still to be finalised:

  • It is business as usual for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
  • The elements of the VBS put in place back in October 2009 continue.
  • Existing requirements concerning the CRB will remain in place, and those entitled to such checks can continue to apply for them.
  • New style application forms (purple forms) will come into use from 26 July as planned.

This web site provides guidance on the use of the UK Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure service detailing the steps needed to request Disclosures for your employees, future employees and volunteers.

It's really easy to register and it's FREE! Simply click here to register your organisation.
